Ani Sushi in Brooklyn

I haven't tried the sushi here but I'm a big fan of their roast organic pork belly ramen. Although it's a bit pricier than other spots, It's a lot more filling than it looks and you can grab it during the lunch hours where it's a little cheaper. The space is cozy and staff are friendly.

It's mostly standard American style sushi. Some interesting special rolls crafted beautifully, but the taste is unremarkable. We sat near the sushi chefs and kept getting blasts of cigarette smoke from somebody on the staff who kept going out back for a drag, and the pork belly bun wasn't hot when it got to the table.

Good food, not enough heat at night but almost all of their business is takeout. Grilled yellowtail collar (neck) with Ponzu daikon sauce is very good. The deluxe soft shell crab roll is very nice, but would be perfect if the crab was freshly cooked.

Sushi ingredients were very fresh and well put together. Great view from the second floor. Staff is very friendly and sincere, and made sure my water was always topped off.

When you call in and ask how the pick 2 sushi works. Get's the response, "You're not getting it! I'm delivering it so don't bother." I just asked simply how the pick 2 worked since it showed a list of items to pick from that came with it the pick 2 sushi. Answering the question too hard for you? Just because these guys assumed you want delivery, they had to respond in such a poor manner? What if I wanted to dine in another day? Then I went to order 1 item instead that clearly stated it came with other items such as salad and your choice of rice, suddenly I get charged each item individually.Don't bother wasting your time in such a place.

Great service and yummy rolls. We ordered the "OMG roll" and it really does fit the name. It was a shrimp tempera explosion! The roll wrapped in cucumber was especially delicious too. Skip the seaweed salad, it's the typical bright green stuff from the deli. The atmosphere is really cute too. I love the wooden structure/paneling. Definitely going back next time I want sushi in Brooklyn Heights. :)

Must try if you are in the neighborhood, good food. OMG roll is very good.

Friendly Service very good food great music

A great spot for lunch on scenic Montague Street. I was immediately seated at a small table near the window. For under fifteen bucks you can get a salad and two of their delicious rolls. Service was prompt and friendly.They're located on the second floor of a building, which means they don't get a lot of visibility, which is a shame, but also good because it's a rare hidden gym in a high traffic area.

Such good sushi here! And the wasabi is the real stuff. :)

The food the staff love it try it and experience it

1 hour,45 minutes for delivery. Showed up soggy and cold. Person answering phone can’t speak a word of English. Dinner disaster.

I haven't tried the ramen but I wouldn't suggest anything other than sushi, which was pretty good. I actually really liked the sushi but I was sat down at the shittiest table with a draft and could hear a man yelling and cursing in the back saying he was the boss of the restaurant. Tldr: sushi is good but the atmosphere sucks

I got the chicken teriyaki & chicken katsu with rice & pot stickers, I think the food is delicious, the portions are perfectly sized & the price is average for the neighborhood.. babe got the garlic fried rice with ox tails & says it’s good. I’d revisit this place again..

I really enjoyed the Ani bowl I had. It was a very inexpensive lunch. Simple, but good.

Very nice location. The best part is the food, it’s absolutely delicious! The furniture was a little damaged but who cares it didn’t hinder the experience. Staff was very nice and bathrooms very clean. Food was reasonably priced and had beautiful presentation! Would recommend.

Iced green tea w/ bubbles was good. So was my udon soup & seafood tempura. Do not get a Groupon they do not want to honor it. They told me I couldn't use it until 400pm even though it was 340 and everywhere on their website says lunch hours end/dinner begins at 330 so we definitely WERE within that dinner switchover timeframe and I had NOT ordered anything from the lunch menu for that specific purpose which, for all the item restrictions attached to the Groupon, it's not worth it anymore anyway but either way I basically just paid them twice for one meal and that is unacceptable.

Nice environment, good view through the window on the 2nd floor, accommodating staff.They also do kimchi fried rice and it's awesome!

My boyfriend and I tried this place because we got a Groupon and I wish we hadn’t. The restaurant is small, and it was ridiculously humid inside. We were both very uncomfortable due to the lack of air conditioning. He’s also 6’2” and they tried to seat us at a very low table initially, we were moved to a new table and that new table was very sticky and felt like it hadn’t been cleaned yet. We ordered two specialty sushi rolls to use up our Groupon, and they weren’t even that good as they both tasted overwhelmingly like garlic. If anyone reading these reviews needs a better recommendation, I’d recommend Kyoto on Smith Street.

Oxtail was good, house salad was good. Different variety of ramen.

We ordered an assortment of sushi and expected very high quality based off the reviews but in said we received mediocre to poor quality sushi. The sushi we got was all crumbly the rice was cold and we thought the sushi was pretty spoiled. Instead of morning at this place had good sushi we were and that we would all be sick within a matter of minutes. We suffered severe stomach pain and headaches and were very gassy. I WOULD NOT ORDER FROM HERE UNLESS YOU WOULD WANT TO EXPERIENCE THE WORST SUSHI IN YOUR LIFE. Honest to God, their was better sushi is Israel. The worst cramps folks.

Try the spicy tuna bowl, the spicy salmon bowl, or the spicy seafood ramen. They're awesome!

Delicious and fresh sushi. I don't know why I didn't start coming here earlier! They have a nice outdoor patio too and I love the seats by the window. Service was friendly and attentive.

One of my favorite Japanese places in the area. Pretty traditional (including going up the stairs to get there) and they serve sushi, ramen, and other dishes. Great vibe with an outdoor area or a great view of the street below. Lunch specials are very reasonably priced.

They have some really questionable taste in music here. Sushi and ramen are good. Definitely recommend takeout here over eating in their dining room.

Chef cares about serving the best fish available. Many creative options and classics served well. Their Raman is the best I've had in NYC and I've tried a lot. Service is friendly but it's really about the food! Definetly worth the walk up the stairs!
